End of Academic Year 2007 - 2008
We are rapidly approaching the end of the 2007-2008 Academic Year and we at the Pharmacy at the Health Center would like to remind you how to obtain your medication for the summer months.
If you are enrolled in the Notre Dame sponsored health insurance (United Health Student Resources) your health insurance coverage extends until August 15, 2008.
- If you are graduating and have no other insurance for the summer: We can supply you with refills until August 15th, provided your physician has authorized enough refills. Please call us a few days in advance to request refills, then you may pick up all refills at one time. Since we will bill all co-pays to your student account, you may wish to order refills by the first week in May.
If any refills remain on your prescriptions after August 15th, they may be transferred to your new pharmacy, according to the laws of that state. Call your new pharmacist or take the bottle to the pharmacy and they will call us for the transfer.
- If you are not graduating but will be away from campus for the summer: We can also supply you with refills until the end of the insurance period, August 15th, provided your physician has authorized enough refills. Please call us a few days in advance to request refills and you may pick up all refills at one time. We will bill all co-pays to your student account.
If you are enrolled as a dependent on your parents’ insurance plan or if you carry another private insurance and will be graduating, studying away from campus or going home for the summer, you may want us to transfer your prescription refills to your local pharmacy. Please call your pharmacist or take your container to the pharmacy and they will call us for the transfer. Since our hours are reduced during the summer and we are not open on weekends, please allow a few extra days. Alternately, we can fill prescriptions for the summer (provided there are enough refills), give you receipts for insurance reimbursement and bill the charges to your student account.
If you have any questions, please feel free to call the pharmacy at 574-631-6574 and we will be happy to discuss the best approach for you. You may also leave a voicemail message during the hours that we are closed. Please leave your name, phone number and the name of the medication or the prescription number from the container or leave a detailed message. We will return your call if necessary.
Summer Hours:

May 27th through May 30th: Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM
June 2nd through August 1st: Monday through Friday 12 noon to 4 PM
Closed: Monday, May 26th for Memorial Day
Closed: Friday, July 4th for Independence Day
