Immunizations
The State of Indiana mandates college students born after 1957 have proof of immunization or proof of having natural immunity to measles (rubeola), mumps, and rubella. (Any person born before 1957 is considered to have had the diseases, and is considered exempt from the requirement.) The requirement includes two measles vaccines, one after their first birthday, and one at least 28 days after the first one; mumps; rubella; and tetanus.
Proof may be provided through the following options:
- Written documentation by the practitioner who administered the vaccines
- Written documentation by the practitioner who diagnosed the active disease
- Written documentation from previous school attended
- Blood tests (titers) drawn to determine the presence of antibodies to these diseases, demonstrating having them
- Obtaining immunizations from this health center, your own private physician, or local Public Health Department
International students are required to be screened for tuberculosis.
