Medical Care During the Summer
Getting medical care during the summer
University Health Services is open Monday through Friday 8-4 during the summer sessions. As an active student, you can visit the health center anytime during those hours.
If you develop an illness or happen to have an accident outside of the summer clinic hours and you want to seek medical care, you can visit any local MedPoint facility, Urgent Care facility or the emergency room of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center or Memorial Hospital for care. (see List below)If you have the school sponsored insurance plan, you have a $500 deductible which means you are responsible for that amount of money before the insurance company will reimburse the provider. If you have your own private plan, you will need to contact that insurance company to see what providers and facilities are covered in this South Bend area.
If you need a prescription and UHS is closed, you can take the prescription to any off campus pharmacy. You will pay your co-pay off campus the same as if you would fill it at UHS.
If you need to call an ambulance, dial 9-1-1.
If you have any specific questions, please contact UHS at 574-631-7497.
