Do you accept my prescription insurance?
The only prescription insurance that we are able to process is the ND School Sponsored Insurance If you have other prescription insurance, we will provide you with a detailed receipt for filing with your insurance carrier for reimbursement.
If you are not certain that your insurance will honor prescriptions filled at the Notre Dame pharmacy, please check with your insurance carrier prior to having prescriptions filled. Their phone number is on your prescription card.
Do you fill prescriptions for Accutane?
Yes, we can fill your Accutane prescription. However, there are several conditions that must be considered. First, some prescription plans may require that you use only the generic and that you must have it filled at only certain pharmacies. Because this medication is so expensive, the UHS pharmacy will not fill your Accutane prescription until you have checked with your insurance company for its restrictions. We do not want you to have a large, non-reimbursable charge on your student account. Second, there are strict prescribing and dispensing regulations through the iPledge program. You must be enrolled, and you must bring your card with your prescription to the pharmacy. In some cases, you may be asked to logon to the website before the prescription may be filled. Prescriptions must also be picked up within seven days. Make sure that you are familiar with the program and its regulations. We cannot make any exceptions to these rules. If you have questions, please ask.
How much will my prescription cost with the School Sponsored Insurance Plan?
Generic prescriptions will cost up to $5 for a one-month supply. Brand name drugs will cost up to $25 for a one-month supply. However, if a brand name drug is dispensed when a generic drug is available, the cost will be up to $35 for a one-month supply.
How can I get my new prescription filled if the UHS pharmacy is closed?
After hours, you may take your prescription to any off-campus pharmacy. If you are enrolled in the Notre Dame school-sponsored insurance plan, present your insurance card to the pharmacist off campus and they will fill your prescription. You will pay 100% of the price for the drug. Then submit the receipt(s) to Aetna Student Resources for reimbursement:according to plan for “Out of Network Services”. If you are on another insurance plan, you should contact them to confirm how your plan works.
If I am enrolled in the Notre Dame-sponsored health insurance, how can I get my prescription filled after graduation?

If you need prescriptions after graduation and you are still living in South Bend, we will still fill your prescriptions only through Aug. 14. However, you must pay cash for the co-pays. If you have moved away from South Bend, you may use your insurance card and pay for the co-pays. We cannot mail prescriptions to you after graduation.
