Questions about Eastern Equine Encephalitis?
Several cases recently have been reported in Southwest Michigan of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE), a rare but potentially severe illness transmitted by mosquitoes. UHS advises all members of the Notre Dame family to protect themselves from mosquito bites using a DEET-containing insect repellent, especially while outside from dusk to dawn, when mosquitoes are most active. Information about EEE can be found here.
