X-ray

When you need an X-ray, the last thing you want to do is leave campus.

Radiology service on campus provides an immediate diagnostic tool for timely evaluation and treatment. The ordering provider reviews all X-rays and will discuss the results with you. The images are then routed to a radiologist at X-Ray Consultants, Inc. (XRC)  or Teleradiology and are reviewed within 24 hours.

Students are referred to other radiology facilities in the community for specialized tests such as CT scans, MRIs, or contrast studies. These include XRC (X-Ray Consultants), Memorial Hospital, or St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.

X-ray Copies

Digital copies of a patient’s radiograph are available upon request. We ask for 48-hour notice when possible.

X-ray Billing

The charge for the actual taking of the X-ray will be placed on your student account or billed to the Notre Dame school-sponsored insurance plan (Aetna). You can print a copy of the itemized statement from onlinestudenthealth, which can be submitted to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement.

There is a separate charge for the radiologist’s reading of the X-ray. The XRC radiologists who read the films will send a separate bill to the responsible party, or file with your insurance if you provide this information at the time of service.
